Hello and Goodbye!

So this is goodbye, but not in a terrible crying way! I am leaving Blogspot and have moved this blog to another platform that agrees with me more! Just wanted to do a quick post about what's up and include the link below for my new blog URL. Thank you all and I hope you continue to read my posts! It means everything to me that I can do something that I love and spread it to others!

Thank you,
Marin S.

Lipstick Love

Hey you stylish people!

Today I am recommending one of the best lipstick I have ever worn: Kate by Maybelline. This brand is beyond my favorite and one of the most highly recommended makeup items by not just myself, but also many Youtube reviewers like Zoella (You should also check her out she is pretty incredible!).

It comes in a bunch of different colors as well as textures! You can get one in a red casing, which has a matte finish and lasts for hours, or you can get the black casing, which has a glossy finish that stays up to normally 5-6 hours with tons of colors to choose from. The black one also smells really good for some reason, so that's an added bonus!

I personally have not loved any lipstick more than these. There is no lie when I say that they last for hours and still look fresh, so seriously try them out because you won't find another drugstore lipstick that is THAT GOOD!

Where to Buy
Target
Walgreens
CVS
Rite Aid
Ulta

Expect more makeup recommendations and techniques in the future!
Lots of Love,

Marin S.

Happy Birthday from Tribal Patterns!

Hello!
So it has been a long time since I have posted to this blog, but it has been extremely busy on my end. First off I am taking a Fashion Marketing course at FIT (fashion Institute of Technology) so I will be in the New York City/Long Island area for the next three weeks! I was also taking an online blogging course through Wordpress the whole month of June, as well as nurturing a new blog (a newbie!) during that time. Link will be below.

Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It has been one year since I started this blog, and even though I have not been the best mother, I am still proud of what has come out of it. Plus, I can only get better from here so that gives me hope for the future.

So now onto the good stuff!

Tribal patterns have been all the rage this summer and fall, so why not discuss them a little bit?
I personally love the prints and enjoy the bright colors they are paired with. In the summer I mainly stick to tribal pattern shawls, which are perfect as a cover up or just in case you get cold. Make sure to get something lightweight and loose  (structureless clothing items are REALLY in right now) so that you don't overheat in the crazy hot summer weather! I have also seen a lot of tribal, structureless shorts everywhere where I look so I would recommend a pair or two of those as well.

It's Been A While...

I know, I know. I'm bad at keeping up with this blog, but now I have the "drive" that comes from a New Year's resolution list!

I have a lot of things that I would like to cover this year in this blog, and I would like to introduce my new, slightly less wordy photo blog on Tumblr! Check it out at

But for right now, I would like to kick off this new year with a couple of fashion ideas from my recent trip to Chicago! I meant to post these earlier but they would't go through, and since I'm not tech savvy it took a while. But here they are for you're enjoyment!

I took these photos everyday I was in Chicago and felt they would be good inspiration! I know that I always like to look at pre made outfits and then try to recreate them, it helps a lot. You might not completely agree with my style, but I like to go for the flirty chic type of look. (A lot of skirts and accessories!) Keep in mind you won't agree with me and that the big idea is to dress for YOU and not anyone else!

Keep things light with a bright accessory, for example, grey pants
and a solid sweater. You will warm up those colder winter nights with this bright hat!
Hat, Old Navy, $10; Sweater, Old Navy, $15; Pants, UniQlo, $19

Whenever I am in a flirtatious mood a mini skirt is my best friend. It fits to your body
and accents your natural curves in a tasteful way, but the key is to
wear them right! Make sure you have something slightly bigger on top so that you
don't seem too risky. I usually wear them with a belt as well to make the outfit more mature!
Mini Skirt, Forever 21, $7; Centra Park Shirt, Old Navy, $8; Necklace, boutique, $50

I especially like this outfit, mainly because of all of the different colors.
A good tip to know is that you can look good in multiple colors if they have the same bases.
A big sweater with a skirt and knitted tights is a cute outfit for a warmer day in winter!
You don't have to sacrifice your figure either, just belt the sweater to pronounce your
waistline! Keep things simple and remember to have a good bag, I really like the kind
that has a handle and a body strap!
Sweater, Old Navy, $15; Skirt, Urban Outfitters, $25; Tights, H&M, $9; Bag, Nordstrom Rack, $75

Stay in tuned for more posts!

So Much to Tell You!

So much has been happing in these past weeks, which is why I have not been blogging. I am getting back to my regular schedule though, and I am so pumped for the coming weeks! I have some great opportunities, such as being featured in an INCREDIBLE new book (I will post the name when I get it) that will come out in the beginning of June. It is all about the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I live and go to school. It will be an "encyclopedia" (for lack of better words) all about the things that make Ann Arbor interesting as well as any secrets it holds. I will be writing a couple of articles on Fashion in Ann Arbor, as well as promoting my blog.

I will also be starting a Tumblr page for smaller things, photos and such, as well as a Facebook page for some of these posts and Ann Arbor fashion as a whole, so check it out if you enjoy what you see in the book!

As for the next couple of posts I'm going to try to pick up where I left off. I'm gonna start with the Fall Photo Shoot (so sorry it's late!), then some fashion from my Chicago trip, then a couple more outfits, some select pieces, and then a dress that will blow your mind! SO, in the end, thank you all for reading these posts! Hopefully you are able to take something from them and be able to enrich that fashion side of you!

Check it Out!

Hey guys! So I know I haven't posted in a while and I feel really bad about that. Expect the fall "Lookbook" to be coming this Friday/Saturday, but for now I thought I would share this great clothing website with you.

Modcloth.com is one of the best online clothing stores' I have ever had the pleasure of shopping at! I especially enjoy it because of the style they focus on, which is "Cute, Vintage-Style, Retro Indie Clothing". Seriously check it out if you enjoy this blog. I understand it is a little more expensive than what I usually advise, but in the end it is totally worth it!

This cute shirt is one of many that Modcloth has to offer! I
like it because of its more mature side, which is what
I have grown to like in clothing. Check out their large
selection of bags, shoes, pants, and my favorite, dresses!
$35, Bird Shirt, www.modcloth.com
